Mother, Lover beat 2-year-old daughter to death to 'stop her crying(Photo)

A mother accused of beating her two-year-old daughter to death with her lover 'to stop her crying' is facing life in jail.

Maribel Palacios Posada, 24, and her boyfriend Gerardo Gonzalez Mayoral, 27, are said to have murdered the child at their home in Mexico City.
The couple initially claimed the girl had sustained her injuries falling down the stairs - but under further questioning Posada confessed that she and her partner regularly beat her daughter when she cried.

According to the huffington post,at first, the couple, who are in custody, claimed they had taken the girl to a doctor and had returned home with her after being told it was nothing serious

A police spokesman said: 'The autopsy indicated that the baby died of visceral and tissue alterations caused by what were probably punches or kicks to the abdominal area.'
